Every year, the Lake Oswego Lions Club along with VisionEnvoy hosts a 4th of July pancake breakfast at George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego.
Recently, with the help of the VisionEnvoy youth leaders, there is an additional booth at the event featuring 4th of July themed face painting, fairy hair, and press on nails.
Looking forward to celebrating with you all again next year!
The Lake Oswego Lions Club and the VisionEnvoy branch supports a program called Guided Dogs for the Blind, which is a school to train dogs to become service dogs.
Every year, we host a cookout at the school and collects funds to donate to the program to ensure families can have access to the guide dogs that they need.
For several years in a row now, VisionEnvoy has established a booth at the Multnomah county fair at Oaks Amusement Park. This is a fair that lasts several days happening in May. This is one of our most popular fundraisers of the year where we not only sell jewelry donated by locals, but also press on nails, face painting, fairy hair, and more fun accessories. During this event, our talented members also put on beautiful performances on the stage, including traditional instruments and dance!
VisionEnvoy partners with one of the local high schools, Lake Oswego High School, to set up a booth during the Asian Cultural Festival -- a student run multi-cultural festival that features many fun activities and local small businesses. VisionEnvoy participates by hosting a booth during the festival, which is located at the highschool, and also takes part in the performance, where different cultural performance groups take part to give the audience an amazing visual experience.
This happens every April and check for event details on our Instagram!
The Oswego Heritage council hosts a annual car and boar show, in which people from all over come together to showcase and admire beautiful collective cars. The Lions Club and VisionEnvoy take part by hosting a cookout during the event in which hamburgers and hotdogs are serves to attendees at the car show. This often takes place at George Rogers Park near the end of August!
All funds raised goes to support nonprofit organizations upheld by the Lions Club!
Our very own talented members create their own holiday card designs, by hand and electronically! They then proceed to sell them prior to the holiday season, often visiting door to door in the neighborhood. By doing this, the community can receive handmade greeting cards that showcase the creativity of individual members, while also supporting a charitable cause to help brighten the lives of others during the holiday season!
Although we do not currently have an online shop, feel free to contact us to purchase!
To promote the unique cultures behind all the VisionEnvoy members, we have established our very own booths at various local events such as multi-cultural day at the highschool, the Portland Y2k flea market, and the Lake Oswego Cultural Exchange day. At our booth, we have fun games and activities based on cultural fun facts, so you can learn about unique cultures while also earning fun prizes. Our youth leaders also dress up in traditional clothing to engage in meaningful conversations with other community members. Check our instagram for where our booth is going next!
The Lions Club and VisionEnvoy has a holiday greens program every year, where purchasing a holiday wreath or plant, it helps both nonprofit organizations raise funds for their community service. (A BIG THANK YOU to Lions Dale Rollins and Sharon Rollins for their hard work in organizing this event!) In 2023, The Lake Oswego Lions Club and VisionEnvoy Branch completed its most successful holiday wreath sale ever and sold over 160 wreaths, swags, garlands, and centerpieces. This helped raise money that the clubs will use to provide eyeglasses and hearing aids for people who can't afford them, scholarships for high school seniors, and donations to other organizations we support. Thank you so much and hope to see you all again next year!
For many many years, the Lake Oswego Lions Club and VisionEnvoy branch continues to love and support the Downs Syndrome Network of Oregon. By hosting a cookout made up of delicious burgers and hotdogs, made to order by our youth members and Lions Club volunteers, we raise funds that go to support the DSNO program.
